Race for the Cure 2002

In September, the girls participated in the Komen Race for the Cure which is the largest series of 5K runs/fitness walks in the world. Proceeds from the Komen Race for the Cure help fund breast cancer research, as well as breast health initiatives on a local level. 75% of the proceeds remain in the community where the race is held. The mission of the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation is to eradicate breast cancer as a life-threatening disease by advancing research, education, screening, and treatment.
